"Following Your Heart to What Comes Next" Workshop
Date: Sunday September 10th, 2017 1:00 to 5:00pm
An experiential workshop about finding what's in your heart and exploring paths that may lead you to happiness and fulfillment.
Do you absolutely love what you do for a living? Do you feel like your job or career is deeply fulfilling and is well aligned with your own inner purpose and personal values? For many of us the answer to one or both of those questions is a clear "no" and yet we still spend the majority of our waking hours - and therefore our lives - doing that job. Sometimes we know what we'd rather be doing and don't know how to get there, and sometimes we really just don't know what we'd really like to do. In this workshop we take a close look at core values and then use a series of well-established tools including the enneagram, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and the Kolbe conation test to get a clearer understanding of who we are and what makes us tick. Then we use a series of introspective questions and career assessment tools to identify and begin exploring alternative job or career paths that may be better aligned with who we are. We end by identifying resources to dig deeper on those ideas and begin making plans to change our lives.
We do this all in an open, safe, respectful, and secular setting. Open to individuals and small groups, and we're open to doing this for small groups at your place.
Here’s what participants in this workshop will gain:
- A clearer understanding of their core values and how they can serve as an inner compass
- A clearer understanding of their personality type, strengths, tendencies, and preferences
- Insights about what their "inner purpose" may be
- Specific ideas about jobs or careers they may want to pursue that are in alignment with their inner purpose
- Resources to use to learn more about and begin pursuing a more aligned career path
Workshop led by Cal Loo of The Intentional Living Collective. $45 donation requested, $5 discount if you pre-register online.
Location: 2723 S. State St., suite 150, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

"Building the village wisdom portal - an October 2017 storytelling Workshop"
Date: Sunday October 22nd, 2017 2:00 to 5:00pm
INSPIRATION THROUGH STORY!
Come connect with others who are sharing experiences that have changed their lives.
The Village Wisdom Portal (www.villagewisdomportal.org) is a free online community resource to give hope and inspiration during challenging times. It's made up of brief videos of community members sharing their personal stories of struggle and perseverance to provide insight, wisdom, vision & healing for the benefit of others in the community. In this workshop participants choose specific events from their lives and facilitator Holly Makimaa will guide them through a creative process to revisit, reframe, and share their stories with the group. Insight, playfulness, compassion, shared values, and love for self and others are important parts of this workshop. Those who choose to share their stories with the larger community will be videotaped at this workshop for inclusion in the Village Wisdom Portal.
Workshop co-led by dual-pathers Holly Makimaa and Cal Loo of Intentional Legacies (intentional-legacies.com). $5 donation requested, just to help offset costs.
