Hope and inspiration are such powerful things! To celebrate the imminent launch of the Eos Community Connections Portal, we are challenging people and organizations across SE Michigan and NW Ohio to give hope and inspiration to others by telling their personal life transition or organizational genesis stories in a video challenge - and to win fun prizes along the way.
Challenge Details
- You should video record yourself telling your story and it can be no longer than 5 mins long
- Participants need to create a free account on the Eos Community Connections Portal (link coming soon) and post their story to their account for others to see
- All participants will receive a sweet Eos tank top or reusable metal straw
- The tellers of the top three stories in each of the major life transitions we support will receive cool prizes and gift cards that will be announced on June 21st
- The tellers of the top five stories overall will be invited to share their stories in person at the September 11th Community Calling gathering
Important Dates
- June 21st - Sept. 4th, 2022 - Submission period for Story Sharing Challenge.
- Sept. 11th, 2022 - Winners announced at the "Community Calling" gathering at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti
Personal Life Transition Stories Storytelling Guidelines
- Your personal story must include the following:
- A personal introduction (ie. Hi, I'm ...)
- Name of the life transition it's about (ie. This is a story about human trafficking ...)
- A description of your experience (ie. This is what happened and how it affected me ...)
- What you learned from the experience (ie. I learned from my experience that ...)
- What you want to share with others (ie. My message to those going through this is ...)
- Your organizational story should be an organizational genesis story and must include:
- An introduction to the organization (ie. Hi, we're XYZ and we do ...)
- A subject (ie.This is a story about how we came into being.)
- A summary of the org's genesis story (ie.This is how and why this organization was created ...)
- What you learned along the way (ie. This is what we learned ...)
- How you serve the community (ie. We serve the community by doing ...)
- Please post your story to your Eos profile and tag @EosStories to give hope and inspiration to others!
- Lastly, please challenge 2 friends to do the same
