September 21st and 22nd, 2017 TILC at the Lucas County Human Trafficking Coalition Conference
TILC is a big supporter of LCHTC's efforts and we're showing up at their 2017 annual conference in a big way! We're a sponsor and will have a booth there to talk to attendees about how TILC connects with them via the Rising Phoenix Awards and Single Moms Intentional Living Endowment (SMILE) programs, and TILC Executive Director Cal Loo is presenting a workshop called "The Power of Story" to help participants find healing in the process of telling their own stories as well as giving hope and inspiration to others by sharing them. Click here for more information. Please come to the conference to learn more about human trafficking and visit our booth!
September 30th, 2017 6:30 to 9:30pm Announcing the First Annual TILC Community Gala - A Night in Vegas!
On September 30th, 2017 we'll host the first annual TILC Gala fundraiser, and it promises to be a great time! Definitely not your normal gala or fundraiser, we're bringing you a Vegas-like night in the Grand Ballroom at the University of Toledo Radisson hotel. This will be a fun and engaging way for all TILC Community Organizational Members to introduce themselves to individuals in the communities we serve as well as potential funders that can support their efforts. Your tickets are good for admission, light food and drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks), a cash bar, and a lot of entertainment including live performances by Drummunity and Tetra!
There'll be five themed zones to visit in addition to a connected room for childcare, where the kids will also be entertained:
“Cosmopolitan” zone – Informal community gathering area in center of room with bar for unstructured networking and socializing. Stand up tables will encourage people to move around and mingle.
“Convention Center” zone – introductions to TILC members via booths, demos, and presentation. We'll offer visitors a passport to encourage visits to all booths with members stamping passports, and collecting all the stamps wins you a prize.
“New York New York” zone – The place to meet people via a fun, structured networking activity. Imagine a fun and engaging “speed dating” scenario in which you'll briefly meet as many other community members as possible.
“Monte Carlo” zone – Area for casino games and competition. Upon check-in at the area you'll receive “funny money” from the “bank” to gamble with and you can play Vegas-like table games like blackjack, poker, roulette, etc. The people who end up with the most “money” win prizes.
“Paris” zone – To bring out the creativity in all of us! A community art project, photo booth with costumes, and a silent auction fundraiser.
"Circus Circus" zone - the kids' zone! There'll be certified babysitters and fun activities for the kids in an adjacent room so the adults can relax and have some fun.
This fun and engaging fundraising event will also serve as the official kickoff of the 2017 Rising Phoenix Awards nomination period, the Q3 2017 SMILE Moms Night Out event. We hope you'll join us!
